True Or False: Louisiana Town Bans Twerking, Effectively Banning Miley Cyrus
What is this, a modern day “Footloose?”
Anyone found impersonating Miley Cyrus’ infamous VMA performance in DeQuincy, Louisiana, could be put in jail for as many as 30 days now that the town’s mayor has officially outlawed twerking.
The dance craze has apparently taken the innocence of so many young DeQuincy women that mayor Maynard Wilkens had no choice but to make excessive booty gyration illegal, calling it a “defiant act against Jesus.”
“The rest of the country can keep their heads in the sand about this sexual act before marriage, but not the great city of DeQuincy,” Wilkens told CNN.
“We will still allow dancing in DeQuincy, just no jigglin’, shakin’ and ‘dry humping’ anywhere in our city limits.”
According to the UK’s EE News, first time offenders will receive a mandatory sentence of 30 days in the county jail. Though undisclosed as of now, punishments for second offenses reportedly will be more severe.
This story has been making its way around the Internet, and it is obviously incredibly false! Let me guess, they have banned the use of foam fingers, too? I love when the people of the Internet fall for these hilarious made up stories.
